Virtual Infrastructure
Environment provisioning on VMware servers running on ESXi hosts, VMware Tools installation, segmentation into Lab and Production VC data centers, environment health checks, and environment consolidation for cost and resource optimization of the underlying ESXi hosts.
Virtual Desktop
Upgrade the VDA agent to the latest LTSR release, update the golden image and install core components, create new sites for production and disaster-recovery environments, configure beacon for internal/external traffic, create machine catalogs and deployment groups, and manage and troubleshoot VDI infrastructure.
Virtual Apps
Install and upgrade the XenApp Server Farm to the latest LTSR version, install and publish applications and desktops, manage and validate DB cluster and DB instances, coordinate with internal/external parties for hosting business-critical applications, and create and manage Citrix server policies, access control, monitoring, and delivery tasks.
Citrix Environment Provisioning
Upgrade PVS console and server to the latest LTSR version, install/configure target imaging software, create Preprod, QA, and Production environments and vDisks, install updates and applications on vDisk versions, provision servers on-demand and deploy to collection, host/manage vDisk in the disaster-recovery site, and maintain templates and servers.
Maintenance Tasks
Daily health checks for PVS servers and the XenApp farm, addressing alerts and taking necessary action, vDisk update/merge/backup, monitoring network bandwidth and ICA session latencies, troubleshooting XenApp and VDI user issues, and root-cause analyses for network latency, DB utilization, and resource-consuming processes.
